Storage Capacity
Waste storage capabilities consist of approximately 2,080,335 gallons as follows:
-The Organic Tank Farm stores approximately 300,000 gallons
-The Container Processing Building stores approximately 510,000 gallons
-The Container Holding Area stores approximately 100,000 gallons
-The External Truck Wash stores approximately 15,180 gallons
-The Lab Pack Building stores approximately 13,200 gallons

Two enclosed pits store a total of 750-cubic yards of bulk solid waste.

Incineration Feed System
There are several methods in which waste is fed to the rotary kiln. They are:

Bulk Solids Feed System
An overhead crane and "clam shell" bucket mix loose, solid waste prior to feeding the material into the rotary kiln feed chute. Each bucket load is weighed to maintain the proper feed to the kiln.

Drum Feed System
Strategically selected drums are delivered to the feed chute by a hydraulic ram feeder. Hydraulically operated feed and swing gates are used to ensure that flue gases do not escape from the kiln through the feed chute and only a minimum amount of air enters the kiln via the feed chute.

Front Wall Lance Feed System
The front wall of the kiln is equipped with six steam-atomized lances for the following pumpable materials:

High BTU liquids Organic liquids Aqueous liquids Sludges (two) Slurries

Direct (Aspiration) Feed System
The direct feed system can be used for both drummed and bulk liquid streams. This system is utilized for wastes that require special treatment and/or processing.
